1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They have motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model) they employ intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture leg. The robots also have the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept in removing hair from dogs. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.
It's still a great deal for those whose home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can work when you're at work or school. robotvacuummops.uk missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for a wet one in minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot vacuum for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.
This high-performing combination vacuum and mop makes use of advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. It did a great cleaning job on various floors and rooms with different flooring types including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds and cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy models of the competitors. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an intuitive mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's loud which could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however, it's more expensive and produce more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and washes and dries the mop pads.
The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.
The vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to how dirty they are.
If you have a larger home, you should consider choosing a model that has spot or zone cleaning mode. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. Finally, a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than its price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad and a rotating motion that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that is washable.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. It also has the ability to create a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we have tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
